Older beans produced a first-ever third flush and part was harvested; younger beans carried flowers and pods but had not yet been picked.
Planting
Beans were direct-sown May 7 after weeding and balanced fertilizer; the soil was already moist from rain. A second crop began in a July seed tray and was later transplanted into released space.
Fertilization
Compost top-dressing supported the row. High-nitrogen feeding was avoided so the plants could prioritize flowers and pods.
Irrigation
Moist soil after rain delayed watering at sowing. Later drip cycles supported both producing plants and newly transplanted beans.
Pest history
Blister beetles appeared on the older row August 17 and were removed carefully. The newer row remained clear, and none were observed during the cool August 20 scout.
Harvest progression
Several harvests were recorded, including a heavy July 20 picking and August 19 and 21 harvests from the older row's third flush.
Companion record
Beans shared a production row with squash, zucchini, and okra, and later occupied succession space opened by finished crops.
Organic practices
Compost top-dressing, close harvest intervals, removal of declining material, and succession timing carried the crop.
Yield
